Cb/Cl 350 Rear battery mount

session101

Been Around the Block
So im finishing up the frame today.... its been too cold
and before i send off the frame to get sand blasted and powder coated i want to setup for a rear mount battery. Any ideas on this? is it just always custom? I don't have a welder so i would have to take it to a shop. Is there any pre-made pans or mounts that i can buy? Also this is going on a stock frame with no rear hoop also. I also want the pan to have a small rear license plate support too so i don't have to use the fender. I don't have a battery yet, but i do plan to buy a sealed one.

just wanted to show pics of what im dealing with..

Why not just use a stock but cut down fender with small rear lamp and bracket and leave the battery in the stock spot?

You need a rear fender anyway, so make it neat.

The idea behind cafe racers was street racing so they copied the race bikes of the time. We can't copy motoGP - too complicated, but we can copy vintage race bikes and most of them have fenders and batteries - because they are functional. Sure we use light ones, but we use them.

We leave the battery exposed (no side cover) so you would have to get creative with hiding the other electrical components

Or make some different side covers. I made mine from Carbon fiber skins over modified stock covers.

Or be different like everyone else ........
