CB/CL/CJ 360 Cam Chain Guide Aftermarket Pre Order

Re: CB 360 Cam Chain Guide Aftermarket Pre Order

Guestimation would be about a week after I place the bulk order depending on how busy he is at the time when I place it.

You realize you WILL be the Legendary Rider if you do this. The 350 set have aftermarket tensioners, but us 360'rs don't.

I stand corrected...I did mean "WHEN" lol

Re: CB 360 Cam Chain Guide Aftermarket Pre Order

Lol. Yeah dude it's already in the works. Definitely a "when". I'm even thinking of redesigning and producing an alternative to the 350 "KA tensioner". I bought one for mine and had to carve out material from the inside of my cylinder for it to fit properly. It'd be nice if we had one that was just a drop in part.

Payment Sent - Looking forward to the delivery..... Hope this does well for you too...

Are you taking payments? I thought you were waiting for a couple of weeks?

should I send mine?

Yes Sir I'm taking payments. Was just waiting for 2 weeks until I place an order so I know how many to get done. Pre payments will help too so I don't have to fork out thousands on my own to pay for them. So if you want to send it then that would be great. Thanks.

Yep I'm going to have extras. Pretty popular so far though so I'm arranging it so I can do up new ones consistently. No worries.

By popular request here's a photo of the setup for these guides. As you can see they just pull out and insert through the top of the cam housing.

In a couple weeks I'm going to put up a web site and have installation videos showing how to replace them.

I'm hesitant to state a timeframe. Seems like that always jinxes it. Not for me but several guys on here know about that! lol. I'm thing pretty soon though. I found a pair of post recall guides the other day that WEREN'T EVEN USED so the machinist is tweaking the CNC program a bit making sure they're 100%. He gets pretty horny over precision. lol.

Also here's a post recall supplement from Honda that I found online. Has some great photos and describes how to reset the tensioner. I guess some guys were having issues with replacement guides not seating down far enough to bolt the holder on. This guide shows how to remedy that problem. Enjoy.

I don't think so as long as the guides are the same. Might be a different procedure on how to reset the tensioner even though you most likely won't even have to.

Hi guys. I haven't been 100% set on the Delrin or UHMW plastics. The Delrin gets brittle when bent and can potentially break. The UHMW has a max operating temp range of 180F. I tested it. It started to melt in my oven at around 220F.

I found a newer product that has a higher Max operating temperature and hardness factor. I've been doing a lot of research on all of them. Given that if the guide fails and your engine could seize at a high rate of speed, I want to ensure that everyone's going to remain safe. I've ordered this new higher grade plastic and will be testing it over the next week. It's a lot more expensive but I'll be absorbing the cost. I'd rather not stress over member safety as far as Australia.

Good news is that the programs are done for the CNC machine. All I have to do is ensure this new plastic will be good to go and we can pump out the guides.

Good news thanks for the update! We all appreciate how much time you're putting into this for our benefit :)
