CB exhaust on CL

What the title says trying to put a set of CB350 exhaust on a CL350 but noticed the pegs are set up different on both bikes due to the different exhaust system. Is there a simple fix for this or will I need remove the bar on the bottom of the frame.

When I purchased my 72 CL the PO had put CB exhaust on it. What I noticed is that they cut the footpeg support on the shifter side, and added a flat plate.

Never noticed this was how it was done until I stripped the bike down the other day.

I'm layed out with the flu at the moment, but I can get pics sometime.
