Cb125 Carb

I snagged a 1975 cb125s today for cheap but for good reason. The bike is in good condition aside from missing pieces here and there such as a gas tank, foot peg mount, points cover, and kickstarter -all which I feel I can replace easily enough. The issue is that the Keihin 22 stock carb is missing the float bowl. I have rebuilt cb350 keihin carbs plenty of times so I feel confident in rebuilding this carb however I can not seem to find a replaceable float bowl. So before spending big bucks on a full OEM carb off of ebay I wanted to know if anyone has had good results with replacement carb, whether it be a possibly knocked off $34.99 mikuni or something else.

The carb in question is

Or could I use an OEM carb off of a 1980 cb125. Such as

Thanks

First, don't waste your money on a knockoff Mikuni or Keihin. As long as the carb is the flanged mount like you linked, you should be fine. Could double check the measurements of the mounting holes, but unless my memory fails me they should all be the same. If you're capable of tuning a carb, and budget isn't extremely tight go for a new actual mikuni.

In my opinion, this bike has just a few really weak points and the stock Keihin is one of those. Overtighten the slide cap and the carb body can warp causing the slide to stick.....not fun at WOT. Don't tighten it enough and the cap can vibrate itself loose in a short time.

Thanks for the quick reply Dirty,

Sadly that OEM carb I posted off of the 1980 has a stuck slide so I dont think I wanna fool with it.
What is the best way to tell if I'm dealing with a legit Mikuni and not a knock-off.

The one I'm thinking is the real deal but not sure is

I fount this link on a different DOT thread and the guy who posted it said he had no problems with it so thats the way I'm currently leaning.
