I believe that the CB125 and the CB100 has the same frame. My 100 has front drum's so you should be able to find a new front wheel without to much trouble and swap it right on.

Yup

Good thing I didn't see these when I was building mine.. I would have bought them.

Even if you decide to go new... depending on where you live for the cost of shipping etc. keep me in mind for getting rid of that disc front end! ;)

You know those mechanical disk front brakes don't work right? A well adjusted and clean drum will outperform one any day.

I'm pretty sure I want to go hydraulic... I'm really only interested in having the disc and wheel.

I will keep you in mind for sure! I don't think it will be any time soon.... BUT I WANT THOSE RIMS FROM EBAY...... OH GOD

Just went and checked the set up on my wife's CL100. You'll need the fork sliders, axle, and right side switch box since the brake perch is an integral part of the box. Assuming you want to do it the easiest/cheapest way...

Looks to be a simple drop out, pull off the switch box, drain the tubes, box and ship.

Your best bet is to offer a complete front end swap, your disc front end for whoever's drum front end. My wife said she's willing to straight trade front ends, you pay the shipping both ways. That's assembled with: tubes, sliders, axle, any spacers and caps, right side switch box and master cylinder/brake perch. Each party keeps their own triple trees and fenders.

That does sound very enticing! I wouldn't mind paying the shipping. It would just have to wait a week or so.... The only thing marring my decision is the fact that my front wheel needs to be trued. it's a bit off at the moment. If you are okay with that... then its a done deal! P.S. you would be getting a brand new front tire... maybe 30 miles on it.

Where are you located? I'm just about 40 miles northeast of downtown (Beale Street) Memphis TN. Tire on ours is probably 13 years old...

Don't care about true right now, bike is barn art until the other 3 in my signature are fixed.

I am in Central Florida. I can figure out what the shipping would be. I don't think I would be able to do the swap for another couple of weeks... due to the shipping cost(which I know will be high)

As for the truing... it's really not that bad. I ride it almost everyday and it's just a tiny bit out of line. As long as your front end isn't going anywhere... i'd love to have it!

I'll try and snap a few pics to send you to make sure it is the right drum. On the 100s it is some kind of tiny. Have to move a seeder before I can get the bike back out for clear shots. Pretty sure the front wheel is a scrawny 18" with a 5 or 6 inch sls drum.

I've got a large sls drum 19" front wheel too, but it is set up for Ceriani/Betor style tab and slot positioning instead of using a brake stay. Think Penton, Bultaco, older Husqvarna style fork and brake plate.

Right now the bike is still sporting its original owner installed front crash bar and a small windshield we installed so my then 70 something father in law could ride. Since he's now 87 and wobbly I think those parts are coming off... And I need to decide if I'm going to stick with the original issue braced handlebar or swap it for the blacked out scaled down XS type I found in the garage. If I can get the misc 100 parts from the selling board I may just go back semi-stock on it. Too little for me or the wife to ride anymore, I clear 6'2" and she's used to 805cc or bigger engines now. We're resto-modding it for one of the grandnieces (have a 19 and a 7 year old) of my brother's girls (triplets who turned 2 in December) who is already a hard core gearhead.

Strange family, don't ask...

Alright, just let me know! I am in no rush! It doesn't sound like you are either! I am unclear about this though.... You said that we could do a complete front end swap? If so, I wouldn't have to worry about the drum size. If you want to swap just the wheel that would be fine too! Either way, it doesn't matter to me!

You have quiet the family tree! I wish I was dropped into grease at a young age :p

No you don't, I've been in and out of rod and bike shops since I was 4. About all I'm good for these days, I'm so crippled up there are times I can't walk without a cane and I'm only 40. My wife actually already has a chair with neat rims and tires set aside for me...

Easiest is to swap forks and wheels, and brake cable. Levers should be the same if you have a cable operated disc. Is your speedometer front hub driven?

That doesn't sound all that fun!!! I guess we all have our different ideas! I'd like to see a picture of that blinged out chair :p

I am good with front end swap! My speedo cable is wheel mounted!

PM me when you are ready, I know what it is like to be waiting on discretionary funds. Just takes a few minutes to pull the fender, detach the speedo cable and brake cable, and drop the tubes out.
