CB125s Question

I rode my 1975 CB125s to work today which is about 20 miles, half of which is highway. The highway speed around here is 50-60 mph so thats what i was doing.

The top speed for the bike is just over 60, so my question is can the bike handle riding at around 60 at high revs for 10 miles at a time or will this kill the bike ?

My old Mercedes diesel would hold redline for hours on end with no ill effects, and i know that these are more around town kind of bikes.

So what do you guys say ?

Stop riding the bike to work, or its built like a tank and can handle it ?

I ride my CL125 all the time at 60, and im not a small guy
2500 miles latter and still kicking.

50-55mph is fine if you back off now and then gently to suck a little oil up by the rings.Take it easy riding for 3 or 4 minutes to warm it up before you cane it.Run a quality MC oil at the grade Honda recommends and change it every 500 miles.....That type of Honda single is a very long lived motor even with hard use.....If your ass and ears can handle it the bike will cope.....

+1 on the oil change, plus keep the engine mounts tight/replace with new bolts and nylock nuts.
