Griff,

If I understand correctly the cb160 is a popular platform for amateur racing. You should be able to Google all kinds of info on them.

;D thanks guys. i was only half kidding. i can find alot of pic of grate looking bikes and parts for good prices. but there arnt too many build threads that i can find. l almost think i should have gotten a 350 instead. it is my first build so it would be nice to find someone to follow.

But then you would be the same as everyone else. ;D ;D ;D
Why not check out some of the cb77 builds on here, similar style and vintage to your bike.

I have nothing in the world against cb350's, but I'd take a 160 any day over the 350. It's a much harder bike to come by these days, atleast here in California, and I think it has eye catching design.

Got pics of yours?

that is one of the big reasons i went with the 160. i saw the "jason lee" bike ad thought that would make a sweet around town bike. i got a good deal on a match set of white 69s. and sold one for almost what i payed for both. i dont have any pics right now because my wife has our camera about 700 miles from the bike. i want to build the motor with new every thing that could have any power lousing ware. i have found a site that makes race parts in small runs at a good price but i dont want to buy stuff i dont need.
i am moving to the boston area at the end of the month and want to start taring the motor down asap as it is the biggest part of the job for me. then i will move to the look of the rest of the project. i will try to keep a good build log both for every one to watch the disaster that is me wrenching and to get pointers as i go. so any tips you can think of before i start and as i go would be a big help.
thanks everyone dave

one of my room mates has a cb160 (black)... he has clubmans, bar end mirrors (napoleons) and removed the front fender, exhaust, pod filters. its very clean for its age. eventually i think hes going to build a seat.

Got any pics? I just think these bikes need very little to look sporty, or even racey. Im sure your roommates bikes is a perfect example of this.

only a picture of the bike how he bought it (no filters, exhaust, front fender is still there and he has messed with the brake light)

the new exhaust makes it look a whole lot better, plus hes done a little cleaning to it since this picture...

I couldn't imagine paying $1000 dollars for a clean cb350, but I would not have that problem doing so for one of these.

904cafe, please post an updated pic when you have time; thanks for this one!

well.. guess that's what I'm building next.... that look like soooooo much fun... (a bit more difficult to break your collar bone too).
