for mine, theres a fair amount of work ahead of me. carbs need to be gone through, new idle air jet and probably main jets for the shorter exaust. redo the tank (seems to be recently lined) and paint it. build a seat. new bars. new footpegs maybe? the left side seems off. all in all should be cool. i'll start a build thread for the red one when we get crackin on that - thats a whole new story.

Re: cb175 cafe (need a rad name)

Ha! CB175's are the new CB350.

You'll do great work on these too, I'm sure.

Hey, those things actually look in pretty good condition - especially compared to the state mine arrived in!

I guess all the 350's are bought? funny it does seem like about half the builds here are 175's right now.

ugh, so besides it not running now and needing new jets and carb work, ive noticed it leaking oil. just a little, but its the first bike ive ever owned that does that. is that fixable?

First bike you've had that leaks??!! WTF?? every bike I've ever owned has leaked oil. Okay, i did start with brit bikes which are notorious but I wouldn't worry too much about it unless its really bad. First thing check the drain plug to be sure its sealing as well as the alternator cover. those are the easy ones to fix.

but you know how my mind always changes so who knows.

since yesterday at 4pm (wednesday) it only dropped a drop of oil from then until tonight at about 2 am (technically friday)

i cant tell where its coming from. its dripping onto my left side pipe and thats where the collection spot is before it drips on the ground into the cup i put under it.

Most likely, it's coming from the side covers or the drain plug. You'll have to drain the oil, put it up on the centerstand, and pull the cover off. Just to be on the safe side, I'd pull the covers from both sides of the motor. Once they get all cleaned up lay them down on a nice flat surface to make sure they aren't warped.

Instead of scouring ebay for NOS gaskets, you can get the material from any auto parts store and cut your own.

+1 on make your own, those side cover gaskets aren't hard to recreate. you've inspected to be sure you don't have a leaky head gasket? They're pretty easy to spot.
