CB175 - Proper way to do a compression test?

So what is the proper method for doing a compression test on a CB175? Using electric/kick start? Throttle Open/Closed? And what are good numbers?

With the throttle fully open and the electric starter, I'm getting ~120psi in both sides.
With the throttle fully closed and electric starter, I get ~80psi on the ride side, and ~60psi on the left.

Also, when at idle, if I unplug my left side plug wire, the exhaust note does not change much. If I rev the bike up to 3-4k and do this, it makes a notable change.
If at idle I unplug the right side plug wire, the bike just dies. Would this indicate that I have weak spark on the left side?

Oh yeah, and first post :)
Thanks for your help!

Throttle / choke wide open, electric or kick shouldn't matter much. Should only take a few revs to get to max psi.

120 isn't bad, but is starting to get low. Try a bit of oil in the cylinder and repeat the test to see if the psi goes up.

BTW - for sure find yourself a manual for the bike - it will explain compression tests along with what they should measure on that bike.

I have the Honda Workshop manual, however I don't believe it lists the procedure or what the ideal PSI numbers are. I skimmed it once before posting, and twice since your reply. Or maybe I'm just incredibly blind*shrugs*

Thanks for the help!

where can i find the right size plug for the compression test. I have two that fit all my bikes (CB750, RD350, 79 Ironhead, 98 Sporty 1200) but both adaptors are too big for the little 175. where did you guys get yours, or whats the name i should be looking for?

Thanks
