CB200 BASED LAVERDA SFC 750 3/4 SCALE REPLICA

Re: CB200 based Laverda SFC 750 replica

Would like to have used the earlier 305 Hawk, as that engine more closley resembles the Laverda 750 twin one,but they are like rocking horse shit round here!

I like where you are going with this - looks like it will be a winner. Where did you source your fairing?

Re: CB200 based Laverda SFC 750 replica

Did the fairing, tank, seat, sidecovers & front fender in figlass from molds I made a few years ago. The tank is a modded Ducati 900SS & the sidecovers are reversed Norton Commando ones.
The fairing & seat are both my figlass replicas of proper Laverda items

Yes. This bike is killer.

Any engine mods or this mosty a style build? Either way its great so far.

Only engine mods are fatter mandrel bent headers & soon bigger carbs as CB200s only had 2x20mm's,& I think some had only 2x18mm's!!!!
We plan on running 2x 26 Keihins on custom manifolds ,although I do have a pair of 26mm Dellortos.......

26 is huge for a street motor if that motor is stock bore and cam. Fine on a race bike admittedly.

Looks very nice.

I think if you could tilt the fairing down a bit at the front so the bottom lines up with the tank lines it would look even better.

By the way, did you ever finish the v-twin project??

Yes, I hear what youre sayin, but if you look closely at the real SFC's, most of them seem to have thier fairings at about that angle........& my other project is still on the go albeit on the back burner for now

CB160 were largest at 20mm (notional) and that's smaller than a 20mm Mikuni. Typically Mikuni measure teh bore and then the slide is larger. Keihin use teh slide diameter as the "size" and the bore is smaller than that. 175s were a touch smaller than the 160. CB72 had 22mm Keihins and CB77 had 26mm Keihins.

26 Keihin is rather large for a full race 175 with high compression and a cam - that's what we have on a CL175 race bike and it's fine above 8000. 26mm Mikuni is enough for an RZ350 making almost 60HP.

We have used stock 160 carbs (well almost stock) on a 204cc 160 race bike and they were fine to about 10.500 which was where that motor peaked anyway. 22mm is a sweet spot on the street.

Thanx for that excellant info dude ;D
Looks like we'll now be into a pair of 22's......
The 26mm thing came as advice of an old mate, Ray, that used to (he has passed away recently) build killer CB350 race engines/bikes
