CB200 Questions galore!

OK hey guys.
Just picked up a 74 CB200 and its my cafe project. Pics will come in the morning when the sun rises. :)
I have a few questions and sorry for so many.

The front has a wobble. It think it could be the front wheel thats a bit out of true. Any idea? Ive trued bicycle wheels many times and may can try this one. Tough to find a straight new or used front for a little money?
The headset seems loose so that COULD be adding to the issue but I dont think so. Will tighten that up in the morning.

Second question. This bike has only 2500 miles on it. Its sat a lot. So original tires on it. They gotta go.
Ive been looking at a lot of tires online and would love your recommendations.

Can anyone recommend a less than GIANT taillight than what this thing has. Its HUGE. lol

Lastly, I need rear turn signals cause they are MIA. Any one know what these are in this pic on this 200?

Thanks so much for your help. :)

Well, the front end wobble could be from a few things: what you listed, fork oil, fork springs are shot, wheel bearings, steering bearings, etc. When in doubt, replace/fix everything.

The hardest thing about tires are finding ones that fit. Find the width of your wheels stamped around the valve stems, then Google "dropbears tire wheel chart". Personally, I had some Pirelli tires mounted on my cl175 and liked them.

And check out Dime City Cycles (link at the top of the page for different lights.

Thanks a lot....one of the fork seals appears to have been leaking.
Thats a good call.

So now Im thinking I need to replace the seals and oil in both and maybe Ill be good to go.
I was looking online for new springs but didnt see anything right away.

Good idea to just replace the springs anyway? Remember, it only has 2500 miles on it. Springs are maybe ok?

I'd hazard to say your fork springs are fine, with that few miles. And like Rich said, check all your bearings and bushings.

Thanks. Will do.
Actually, checked for play in the front wheel bearing and it seemed perfect.
Im looking into fork seals since i know one has been leaking. Ive never done the seals on forks but assume its not that bad.
Been looking at the seals on ebay. Pretty cheap.
Could you recommend anything else I might need while Im in the fork besides the seal?
Recommend a certain fork oil as well?

Please say I dont need some wacky special tool for this job either. ;D

Nothing wacky, but I like a heat gun. Check your fork tubes for pitting. I don't have much experience with cb200s but I'd be inclined to go with a heavier oil on that small bike.

Thanks, really appreciate the help ;)
Gonna order the seals and give it a go.
Hopefully that fixes the odd wobble and take it from there.
Of course Ill update the thread with the result.

I'd recommend some new rubber before you take it out again. Those tires are toast.

Just ordered tires and tubes .....so glad to have those on the way.

Now I have to get some fork seals coming and Ill be happy.

Oh, since I was planning to try to true my front wheel a little, anyone know the spoke wrench size on this bike?
I heard it may be 3.2mm.

Thanks!

BTW, ordered some bars, turn signals, grips and mirrors. All from DIME CiTY.
This bike had no rear turns when I got it, the mirrors were terrible and the grips were OE from 1974. ;D

I don't know what size the spokes are, but most wrenches have a couple sizes already.

Thanks yeah. Seen a few that had multiple sizes.
Best bet is that I guess. 8)

BTW, if anyone has any input on my new electrical problem.... :(

Picked up my spoke wrench this morning.
Looking forward to getting this front wheel true.

Im still planning to do the fork seals and oil as I feel that and the wheel (and the old tire are) are all contributing to the wobble up front. New tires and tubes are on their way so should have a busy weekend of improvements ahead of me. :)

what kind of tires did you buy (with sizes). I'm trying to find some for mine as well
