CB350 battery options???

Less is more
I may need a new battery for my CB350. I have a sealed unit now, but it isn't holding a charge. I figured I would upgrade with something lighter. What products are out there that work well?

Please... My batery isn't holding a new charge, and if I have to replace it I want to upgrade, or at least go with a different brand.

I know antigravity batteries are good but are pricey. I just got a 4 cell ballistic battery for my 360 but havnt installed it yet. For the price I assume these are top line batteries.

Hey M511y. What battery did you end up with and do you have any feedback?

I ended up going with this. It's nothing fancy.

I have an Antigravity battery in my CB350 and it has worked fine. Only problem I had, was I had to send it back for warrenty and they sent me a new battery.

Glennwood,

What antigravity did you go with? How much did it set you back and where did you get it from?

Ballistic Batteries are also pretty good - really similar to Antigravity but a bit cheaper. Pretty sure they are both are LiPO (Lithium Iron Phosphate), which is a less explosive version of Lithium Ion.

See here, I picked up the 8 cell for my 350 and it works well: http://www.ballisticparts.com/

Not trying to be a grammar nazi, but LiPO is lithium polymer.
LiFePO4 is lithium Phosphate, also called FerroPhosphate battery.

LiPo:
positive electrode: LiCoO2 or LiMn2O4
Separator: Conducting polymer electrolyte (e.g., polyethyleneoxide, PEO)
negative electrode: Li or carbon-Li intercalation compound

LiFe or LiFePO4:

Cathode composition (weight)

90% C-LiFePO4, grade Phos-Dev-12
5% Carbon EBN-10-10 (superior graphite)
5% PVDF

Cell Configuration

Carbon-coated aluminium current collector 15
1.54 cm2 cathode
Electrolyte: Ethylene carbonate-Dimethyl carbonate (EC-DMC) 1-1 LiClO4 1M
Anode: Graphite or Hard Carbon with intercalated Metallic lithium

Lithium Ion: Oddly, both of the above are Lithium Ion batteries, and there are quite a few other chemistry's. The big issue with all lithium batteries, that lithium is heat sensitive and is spontaneously flammable exposed to air.
