CB350 Bowls

Hey guys,
I read about a guy who was having trouble with carbs leaking from overflow tubes.. Mine was leaking out of the overflow tubes, on both. So I checked my float height and added just a little more (1.040), still leaked. Took it off and bench tested bowls. Sure enough, leaking from the brass overflow tubes. So with that said is it OK to pinch the ends of the rubber overflow tubes, or does anybody have a set of good carb bowls for a 72 CB350 twin?

I highly recommend NOT pinching the overflow tubes. If something happens to your floats, your entire gas tank could pour right into the motor.

What about getting some plumbers solder around the tube? Sparingly, of course.

Well, the day just keeps getting better and better. I had a chance to really look at the bowls, and the overflow tubes are cracked all the way from bottom to top. I verified by putting a piece of gas line over the tube (snug) and filled bowl with gas. No leaking! Not only that but I submerged the floats in gas, left them for a while, and checked them: They both have a little gas in them. So those are leaking, too. Oh joy. I was told that the CB750's floats are the same (Maybe only a certain year?). Can anybody verify that for sure? Thanks for your help guys.
