justtt a tad. been spending too much free time with her. but damn can that bird do what the birds do best...

least i have tomorrow (tuesday) off from class! honestly speaking ive been killing to get some work done; just yesterday i spent 8 or so hours studying for biology and taking about 24 pages of notes. that class kills me.

I dropped money on a d70 today, plus a lens (should be here later this week!)... that means some better photos! though most of the time ill probably just keep my older camera in the basement to keep my d70 clean.

im going to go see what my local auto place has in the way of paint... no one around here appears to do anything themselves, hence its difficult to find quality products. will probably end up ordering online, well see.

i need to order some long shanks for my die grinder so i can get to "porting" my head. that reminds me that i need to take measurements of carbs/intake to get my intake "boots" machined out of alloy.

i need to really mock up everything before painting the frame; i would hate to realize im missing one or two bolt locations.

when i think of it now, there really isnt much more to do. just paint and assemble really. just so damn hard to get the time to really get into it and get anything done. hell, i could probably build it all up in a week and have it running in two... that is if i dont paint anything and have it looking like crap, without a tank.

i spose i need to just put everything aside and get it done. hard to be motivated when you spend 6 hours working only to do something like fix chain clearance issue.

Check out tcpglobal.com for paint.
Great prices and they can mix colors that date all the way back to wagons.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (A whole lot of nuthin)

+1 on TCP Global. Great service and shipping, and they have all the name brand stuff for reasonable.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (A whole lot of nuthin)

Man oh man, i can't wait to see this bike. slooooowww, can't believe you've been this patient, but it will be worth it.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (A whole lot of nuthin)

hey bud TPC also has a great help dept... you can get complete kits from them that are ready to be just mixed and shot... plus if you know what gun and what tip you have on there they can thin the paint to your order (or send the mixture to do it)... they are great guys to work with and i have bought from them litterally countless times!
if you plan on shooting any flake though be sure you have 2 guns... i have a gun dedicated just to clear, another dedicated just to flake, and another to color

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (A whole lot of nuthin)

+1 on what Joe said.
An don't shoot primer through you paint, clear or flake gun or it will surely screw them up eventually, you need a bigger needle on your primer gun (1.8-1.9 works really good)
BUT if you have to use the same gun for primer and paint, spend time cleaning it and shooting thiner through it to clean it out.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (A whole lot of nuthin)

wow! thanks for that link guys. ill be sure to order some up.

im going to have to work some overtime... drained my bank account a bit on camera stuff (will be worth it though)...

i was just down in my basement... i keep sitting around wondering what to do. i spose ill just polish my crankcase... fuck thats a pain in the ass. oh well, time for work.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (A whole lot of nuthin)

oh yeah, only one gun for now, but least i have two canisters for it.

i clean very thoroughly when im done shooting. eventually two guns would be lovely, but for now ill deal with it.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (A whole lot of nuthin)

Oy you
Time to get the damn thing up and running
76 pages, 26,000+ views and - NUTHIN ;)
Mine may need tearing apart and re-building, but, at least it's moving under it's own power (with Vids to prove it 8) )
Carry on, git-r-dun

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (A whole lot of nuthin)

hahahaha... spent 3 hours today sanding the top crankcase and polishing a bit. its taking a whileee.... going to be the prettiest piece ive ever polished when its done, and be the only polished cb350 crankcase ive ever seen.

mine moved under its own power 76 pages ago ;)

i shot that company an email asking if they could match a motor paint to a standard paint; no reply yet.

if you guys want it running, i can do that, but ill have to take it all apart again. its still cold here, so no point.

If you have several days to spare and scroll back through to page 1 you will discover that this thread was actually started in 1985. Rocan is no longer a teenager. He currently lives in a trailer with a ex stripper from Albuquerque who used to be called max.
Jeez, people have built pyramids in less time than this.
;) ;)
Get on with it.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (A whole lot of nuthin)

Never mind everyone else, just take your time man and enjoy the build. I'm twice your age and wish I had half your patience, keep at it, it'll be ready when its ready.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (A whole lot of nuthin)

haha blake! your building off against yourself. go ahead and "beat" me. youll get hype for about a week on your finished product, ill be recognized for years ;)

the sniper always kills the highest ranking targets; infantry only kill those who will be tallied up and filed into a cabinet to be forgotten forever.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (A whole lot of nuthin)

Sounds like someone is getting sore...

If you are building a bike to get hype on an internet forum, methinks your priorities are a little misplaced. I kind of have to agree with alot of the others here, though, that for all the knowlege, skill, gifting, etc, etc, etc about which you boast, you are one of the slower builders on here. Not right, not wrong, just sayin' ;)
