cb350 & cb360

what do the 350s and 360s share in common in parts? which parts can fit in the other and vice-versa?

you could check any one of a number of Honda parts fiche sites ( http://www.cmsnl.com/ is one), look up both the 350 and 360, then just see if the corresponding parts numbers match. there's probably more that are swappable, but its a good place to start.

Your question is pretty vague, what do you want to swap over?
Wheels, forks, indicators, handlebars, shocks, head and tail light, switches and mirrors can all be made to fit but they have very little in common mechanically. Alternator may fit, never tried it
You could probably swap entire transmission from one case to the other but engines are not even close to swappable

pj... elaborate on the tranny swap... ive heard its a straight swap but havent really gotten a definitive answer...

would be awesome to have one of the only 6 speed cb350s out there :D

I did it to a 5 speed CJ250 (bored to 391cc ;D)
It's not worth the effort unless you already have a CB360 tranny laying around or a super tuned, high gear race bike (even then the step from 3rd to 4th will suck real bad)
You may be able to pick and mix various gears to get closer ratio's but I've never had CB350, CJ250/360 and CB360 apart at same time plus never bothered to count gear teeth (I did check ratio's one time, wouldn't bother to change to 6 speed)

so you can't drop in a 350 motor into a 360 frame? what about tanks and seats .... can i put a stock 350 tank/seat into a 360 frame?

Nope. frames are different enough where it matters
350 motor could be fitted to 360 frame as 350 is physically smaller donk

Yeah you would think that the bikes are very similar, but they really aren't. I've seen several 350 motors in the 360 frame. It kind of makes sense...350 has a better aftermarket following, thus more hop up parts to be had....then the 360 frame is WAY better than the 350 frame. Much less stamped steel...more tubular. So combining the two is a decent idea. The motor mounts ALL have to be changed. But other than that, it's pretty straight forward. Some parts are the same, but not a lot.

350 frame is damn good enough for whatever you give it... not much flex in there (stamped steel is plenty strong, just a tad heavier and a bit cheaper).

350 feels like a worse ride than the 360 because the swingarm on the 350 has a lot of flex.
