cb350 center stand

Been Around the Block
Hey guys. So yesterday I went to put my center stand back on my 73' CB350G, because the side stand gets in the way of my rear sets, and it seems like the stand might be bent or something. It doesn't fit around the chain any more. I know it fit on the bike properly before I took it all down but now it hits on the chain. It is only like 1/2 in that it needs to be spread out. Would it be ok to heat it up and spread the legs a little?

I've tried searching for something like this but didn't find anything. I also looked through the build section at all the CB350 builds for like 20-25 pages but also couldn't find any pics of any CB350's with the center stand up and no exhaust down by it.

Any help would be appriciated. Also if you need pics just let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Did you replace the stock exhaust? Because the left side muffler has 2 rubber blocks underneath that stop the centerstand from hitting the chain.

Actualy when I got the bike it was a basket case and didn't have any exhaust on it. I did put CL pipes on it. That does explain a lot though. I figured there was some type of stops for it. I'll have to make something up or weld some type of stops onto the stand to hit the frame.
Thanks!
