cb350 clubman

mothballs

i am brand new to motorcycles in general, but recently bought a '73 cb350 in great condition. i am looking to slowly transform it into a bit of a cafe racer over the fall and winter, starting with new handlebars. my question is, what are some good clubmans for my bike, and where would i get them? i believe i need 33mm, but i am not positive.

any recommendations?

You need 7/8th handle bars. 33mm is the fork tube diameter for the 350. And yeah, hit up Dime City. Theyll take care of ya.

If by clubmans you mean clip ons then yes 33mm is the number. You'll have to get new head light ears too. The stock ears won't fit with clip ons.

Changing to clip on means a whole host of other changes like mentioned above is the headlight ears, also shorter throttle cables and maybe even a shorter clutch cable, then comes the top tree issue, the risers are built into the top clamp, so if you want to eliminate them you have to get another top clamp or think of a creative way to get rid of it on the factory one.

If you want clubmans, the hardest part is internally wiring the bastards! It is a bitch of a process and can frustrate you to no end! Cables may still need to be changed but with some clever routing you can get by with the stock ones.

You may already know but just incase you are unsure of what clip-ons and clubmans are, here are some pics.

Yes indeed as twisted said. I ended up have to use a Motion Pro clutch cable intended for a CB125 on my 350. Worked great though.

I feel like clubmans are just a baby-step to clip-ons. You'll technically need shorter cables with both options, and the wiring hassles are worse with the clubmans due to the 90 degree bend. I ended up cutting a set of clubmans into three pieces, running the wires, then re-welding them to get wiring done "easier".. only to wish I had clip-ons later.

Go all-out early, so you don't have to do all of that wiring work twice. Your whip could probably use new cables anyway.

Just my two cents...

I just did clubmans on my CB175 today, wow was that a pain! but the look is worth it! I prefer the look of them to clip-ons, the way they sweep around the instrument cluster can't be beat
