Yesterday when I was riding my bike to my parents house after riding it all day it broke down on me. At first I thought it was the battery as I know it's needed a new one for a while. Once I got a new battery and realized I had to charge it first I trailered the bike to my parents, put it on charge, and left for dinner. After dinner I checked on the bike and still absolutely nothing. I then checked the main fuse and found it blown. I replaced the fuse and while the charger was hooked up it would start and run fine. So I left it on charge over night. When I went to look at the bike today the battery only had a charge of 10V and the bike was acting weird. When I would turn the main power on the neutral light would come on and then dim out about 3-4 times and then nothing.

Any one seen anything like this or heard of this? Think it might be a bad battery? Maybe a bad battery and wasn't charged enough?

yuck Electrical gremlins. You might need a new battery. Your engine may not be charging it. You may have a short that is draining the battery while it sits. What size fuse did you have that blew? Btw I suggest removing your battery to charge it seems to work better. Also make sure your bat charger is working properly. If i were you I would pick up one of those nifty little 2 amp battery maintainers from wally world. Get some distilled water make sure all the cells are up to the full line and set it on that maintainer for a couple days cause it won't overcharge it
 
Thanks. I actually tried two different chargers. One that I know for sure works great and still nothing. It's a sealed cell battery so I can't check the level but since it is brand new and I did put the acid in I figured it would be fine. I'll try the removal thing just to try it. I've never heard that before or done it lol. Thanks again.
 
I've had other bikes with problems that "seemed" like a bad battery... What had happened was the ground had become defective. In older bikes, the connections tend to corrode over time. I recommend going through the bike and cleaning up all the grounds... in fact, I've had great luck installing a second ground to the frame somewhere.

As I write this, I also thought that you should check the wiring going to/from the battery and to the starter. Be sure they're clean and tight.

If that doesn't do the trick, it may be a faulty starter. May be sticking or may be causing a short somewhere.
