So.. already dreaming about my next build

was looking into the 350f / 400f and was curious about

A. Can I race one competitively?

B. Who makes race parts for them

C. Does anyone have links to serious 350f or 400f racers?

D. Do these make good bikes to build replica RC 1XX ?

Thx- Ian

400f - YES. let me look around and find my bookmarks on my other computer, I have spent countless hours finding links for all things SS400f.

Not good as a full on RC 172 replicas because they are so basic and only SOHC. AHRMA does allow them in full GP race trim and there's nothing to stop you from slipping a 400 six speed box in there. Camchain tensioners are a PIA on those motors, so you need a workaround.

350F is a long stroke small bore motor and to be competitive you would need to shorten the stroke and increase the bore and AHRMA is already wise to that one and banned it.

For a real DOHC replica you need a decent frame forks and wheels and to start with a different motor and would have to cast up a few new engine castings.

I think that both 350 and 400 are eligible in the various Superbike lightweight classes
