There are so many 360s on this site, figured I'd have fun with the topic name on mine. I considered CB360 Degrees, but that seemed to easy.
Here she is the day I got her, and yes, that is my kitchen. I live in a duplex w/no garage, so all the pics will be the kitchen, basement, or dining room. Obviously, I live alone b/c a female resident would never put up w/this.
i've got a lot of plans. some that i haven't even really gotten solid. taillight mainly, but a few other things, like tank/fender/headlight color. i also decided to call it Back to Japan b/c i really like the style and mods contemporary Japanese have been doing to their bikes. somewhere between chopper and cafe. stuff on bratstyle for example.
Here's a quick rundown:
- streamline (hack off unneeded parts and tabs/mounts like starter motor, chain guard, front fender, etc.)
- lower 2"
- paint as much black as possible (i'm not a chrome guy)
- drag bars
- K&N filters or foam or velocity stack, still not sure
- fork gaitors
- no front fender
- shorty rear fender
- relocate ignition
- speed holes here and there
- new turn signals
- new taillight
- new mirrors
- custom 2 into 1 high pipes w/muffler (peashooter perhaps)
i'm sure i forgot a lot, but you guys get the idea. along with all this, clean everything up and replace old parts like bearings and brake lines with new/better ones.
The sandblaster man has most of my parts now. frame, swingarm, motor mounts, few other things. supposed to be back this week. I'm not gonna have them powdercoated b/c i work at a paint store and have the tools/knowledge to do it myself. Sorry if that sounds like bragging, but I also want to save some dough.
I forgot to send a few things out to the sandman, so here i've prepped lower forks and levers. One of the ball ends was already missing on one of the levers, so I chopped off the other ball and smoothed out the ends. Look much better now. Thanks for the idea Mysta! Gotta give credit where credit is due.
I think the paint is a good idea. In my experience, paint always comes out better than powdercoat. Then again, I had a master painter/craftsman paint my bike.
I too took Mysta2's lead an cut off the ball ends. They do look much better.

Any thoughts on what you are going to do about rearsets?
wow we must have gotten our bikes about the same time. Im jelouse tho my bike was not in near that shape when i got it, as obvious from my pics. Thats gonna be a cool bike man cant wait to see it.
I think the ball ends on the levers serve a few purposes. One would be to help keep your fingers from sliding off in the event your hand slips a bit. Two would be to prevent them from puncturing your body in the event of a crash. Three might be to help keep them from vibrating as much, like weighted bar-ends purportedly do.
I'm not opposed to cutting them off - just got me thinking about why they might be there in the first place.
no rearsets for me. i'm a fan of the mids. plus, i got to chop off those passenger/rearset mounts off the frame. more streamlined and i can refuse any passengers who ask. she's only meant for one man

i lucked out. only 4500 original miles. the guy i bought it from is a collector(his garage held about 6 bikes, 2 cars, and a boat) who purchased it for his bro who apparently never rode it. he bought it off a widow who had the bike in her barn for the past 10 years and the 25 years before that it was meticulously maintained by her husband. only $950.
I once kept an RZ350 and RZ500 in my basement, I lived with my parents and my dad was into what I was up too so that was real cool.
Then years later I kept a Sportster and RZ500 in my dinning room, my girlfriend didn't mind at all, then I married her and things changed...LOL.
I think a bike in the house is a beautiful thing.
Nothing wrong with a bike or 2 in the house. I had my CB350f in my living room for 2 years.... and the only reason it left was I had bought a new place !
unfortunately, no. the sandblastman hasn't gotten back to me. i'm gonna stop by his shop on monday morning and see if he is done. that's when the fun beginsaint!
i did get a new wire wheel for my bench grinder, so that will speed up the clean/polish process.
i took my wheels apart, but that's about it. i'll post some before and after pics when i get them together, but i want to wait til i get the rims painted and the new rubber on to have a significant difference.
