CB360 Backfiring Sound

So I am trying to get my CB360 started for the first time. I have it set up for kickstart only. Anyways when I am trying to turn it over I get this popping sound. I have not been able to get it started yet. I know I have spark. A few times I have sprayed carb cleaner where the spark plugs go then wrench the spark plugs in hoping to get it going that way. Though when I have been doing that the pop comes. I don't want to damage anything. Any ideas what it could be and how to get it going?

Have you set the timing correctly?

I had no problems with mine first time around..., adjusted cam chain tension, adjusted valves (went over 2-3 times) checked ignition timing, made sure each coil was sparking in-sync with how I adjusted the points....

Just went step by step through manual.

Check to make sure you're not 180 degrees out. Quick check would be to swap your ignition wires (blue and yellow) to the oposite coils and see if it fires.

Thanks guys! I will try that out when I get home. I was wondering if it could be the timing being off.
