CB360 keeps blowing a fuse.

So I just picked up a running Cb360. The headlight and tail light both work as they should (high beam, low beam up front, running and brake in the rear). All turn signals flash as the should however my front left signal light stays lit like a running light when the ignition is on. I don't know if the signal lights should be lit like running lights when not flashing or if the light that is on should not be. So I peer into the fuse box and find that the fuse marked "TAIL" is blown (tail light works fine though). I turn the ign. off and replace the fuse and turn back on and it blows again. I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction. All suggestions are welcome. I hate electrical stuff!

hi,
can you rewrite your problem as it is a little difficult to follow...

does your bike have front running lights? twin filament bulbs and possibly one is burnt out? kind of hard to understand everything works but you blow a fuse....leave it out and ride the funking bike.......................joe

The front blinkers on the 360 are dual filament, but they should only stay on when the headlight is on.

Which light circuit dies when the fuse blows? Check that circuit for a dead short.

See, thats just it. I am not losing a light circuit per say. The only thing out of the ordinary is it looks like I have a blown filament in my front right turn signal. It still blinks though. Just does not act as a running light. I don't see any visible hack job wiring but I think we all know how much crap can be hidden in the wiring harness of a 36 year old bike. Oh well. I will rip into it after Thanksgiving. Thanks for the help thus far.

I'd say you have a short in the tail light wiring, that has been "wired around".

Good hunting.

dont know if you got this sorted yet but i know in the auto world (im a mechanic) i usually find a bad ground connection causing issues like that. I dont know if a bike is wired the same ( building my first one) but usually i find another bulb with a bad ground back feeding voltage causing an issue like that. That or a bad switch.

I have started hacking on the bike and have pulled all of the wiring from under the seat and tail. I will cut open the wiring harness soon and see what I can figure out. I am not going to run any turn signals on the bike so A little rewire will be in order any ways.
