Hi Everyone,
I have a 74 cb360 that I've been trying to install a pamco ignition system on, and I'm having problems getting the bike to start. The pamco is installed and wired per the instructions on cb360ignition.com. I've verified I'm getting a spark on both plugs and both plugs smelled of gas when I pulled them after trying to start, but the bike just turns over without ignition when I try to start.
Per my previous thread from a few months ago (http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=74967.0) I tried swapping the trigger wires (the white / green wires from the pamco going to the blue / yellow wires from my coils), but when I try to start with that configuration, the bike fires without idling for a couple of seconds and then makes a horrible metal on metal clanking noise.
I'm not sure if it's related, but I just installed a new cam because I broke the end of my old cam while trying to install the pamco unit. I'm worried the loud metal on metal banging noise could be something to due with the cam chain or the cam, but the bike only makes the noise when I swap the trigger wires from the pamco unit. I'm not sure why it's doing that?
I've verified compression, spark, and fuel on both cylinders but I'm still not getting the bike to idle. If anyone has any ideas on what I could try or what might be the issue I would really appreciate it. I can post pictures of the wiring setup if it would help. Thanks for your help.
