So about 3 years ago I snagged a 75 360. The plan was to do the whole cafe racer thing which I did but never fully completed it. The bike has been living under a tarp in my girlfriends parents garage for the past year but I just got it moved to a buddies garage to start the rebuild. I don't have a deadline or anything like that but I'm hoping to have the bike done in a reasonable amount of time. This will be my first ground up build and I'm stoked to finally get this going.

On a serious note. There was some rust on the inside of the rim. I took a wire wheel to it and knocked it down quite a bit but I want to make sure this wont cause problems down the road or be unsafe.
Once I finish stripping the bike its being taken to a local shop to lower the seat rails and extend the swing arm.
Everything is looking really good so far and awesome to have a buddy like that.
Have you worked out the geometry of the shocks after the frame change and Swing Arm lengthen? It might be a bit extreme if you plan to move the top shock mounts lower than stock. One thing to consider (if its not already in the plan) is to do the frame change but to keep the factory shock mounts where they are. Just thought I'd toss it out there. Keep up the good work
Thanks man I appreciate the input. I've eye balled the the dimensions with the swing arm stretch and also saw a member on here who had done it and it seems like it should be ok. However, you got me thinking about tire and seat clearance with the seat rails lowered. I "think" it should be fine but I'm going to give it another look before I get my self in a bad situation. As far as the shock mounts go, they are stayin put. I like the look and it will give me a good nook for the seat to sit in.
Sounds like you got her right on track for sure.Great choice about the stock shock mounts, frame change and the extended SA. By extending the SA it will allow you to sit in front of the tire a bit instead of on top of. I love the look of the bikes with the seat on the fender and the fender close to the back tire (as close as the shocks will allow anyhow).
It is a good idea to double and tripple check the clearances though. Once its done it can be changed but usually involves time and money.
Well I mocked it up again and there is a ton of room! It's going in to the shop tomorrow for welding in the mean time I'm going try and clean up these nasty ass wheels.
Took the rear wheel apart for a clean and some paint. Hopefully it goes back together better than last time I tried to lace a wheel. Front wheel is coming apart when i get back from the lake. Happy 4th yall!
The frame is done, now the decision needs to be made if I still want to stretch the swinger or just get some shorter shocks. Im going to the shop tomorrow to check it out.
Well I finally picked the frame up from the shop. As you can see it has a pretty serious dirtbike stance going on right now. Im waiting for my stem bearings to show up so i can get the front in back on and make a final decision on what i want to do with the swing arm. Im leaning pretty strongly towards the stretch because i dont think there is going to be enough clearance between the frame and tire with shorter shocks. Also worth noting, not going to be using the stock tank I just put it on to see what it looked like.
