CB400F Rearsets Finished

Hi All,

I've been working on a new design for rearsets for the CB400F. I wanted something that would allow the buyer to pick and choose from a selection of parts to put together a set that meets their requirements, and budget. I've tried to keep the prices down to a reasonable level, (I guess you will decide if I was successful or not). Finished kit prices range from around $380 if you re-use some of your existing 400F linkage components, up to about $600 if you were to order all the optional parts. You can download a set of drawings that show all the components, and a couple of Excel price sheets at my website http://www.denoonsp.com/cb400f-rearsets.htm , along with more photos.

One of the Excel sheets lists the price for a group buy. If I can get 6-8 interested people, that's enough for me to order the mounting plates and stuff from a laser/water jet cutter, and it drops the price compared to having to cut and machine those parts myself. Delivery on a group buy would likely be 6-8 weeks, given time to organize, collect deposits, and order component parts from Italy.

The other Excel file is for pricing on an individual set, where I am building them one at a time.

If you have questions, you can post here or contact me direct at rdenoon@mts.net

Thanks

Hi All,

I did a small run of rearset plates. I have 3 sets of plates in stock ready to go, and one complete set with all the Tarozzi parts.

Plates by themselves are under $150, and the complete set with all new pegs/levers/arms/linkages are around $500.

While they look good, there are a few other members here selling full bolt on kits for a third of that (Viet, DurghamK). May be a tough sell.

Yes, I have seen Viet's kit. I feel like my kit has some quality advantages, (heim joints for the shifter, folding pegs). And the Tarozzi rearset kit by itself retails for 3X what he sells his kit for.

You are right though, might be a tough sell. Like everything else I have developed for the 400F, it is servicing a limited market, so there are no dreams of early retirement off of 400F product sales.

Hey all,

I thought I'd show everyone another idea in rearsets. These are for my personal project bike, and what makes them a bit different is that they are fully adjustable thru about a +- 4" range. The big circlular part in the middle acts as a big eccentric, the arm can be attached to the eccentric in 3 different positions, and then the arm can be pegged at different angles to the eccentric.

That is one nice setup.......I wish I had the machinery and skills to make something like

Thanks to everyone, glad you like them.

o1marc - Yes they would easily be $1k + if I was to be charging someone for my time, design/programming/machining

Bert Jan - I will be machining a different brake pedal, the Tarozzi one sticks out further than necessary, but sometimes you just have to pick your battles.
I am a Tarozzi distributor in Canada, so I had the remnants of a rearset kit sitting here that I used to prototype the 400F kit, and it would be a lot of machining to make something as nice as the Tarozzi pegs. They are solid, with a smooth and precise movement.

A parts distributor in Canada, you say? do you have a web page?

www.denoonsp.com

I don't have any of the Tarozzi parts listed on the site, but I can get anything they carry. Same for Woodcraft Racing.

If there is something you need, you can email me and I'll put together a quote for you.

Shipping and banking charges are pretty high, (especially from Italy), so I usually try to accumulate two or three orders to spread the costs out.
