CB400T seat on CM400?

I have a 79' CM400T and I can't stand the 2-up seat that it has on it. I know the late 70's and early 80's CB's had the same sloped body lines as the CM's did but the CB's also had a flat seat. So my basic question is would a CB400T seat cover fit onto my CM400 seat pan if I got some new foam?

Cover yes and just trim the foam on your bike flat. The pans are not interchangable I tried but the covers would work as they stretch a bit. I just took my cm cover off. Cut the foam level. Pit the cm cover back on and stretched it back on to make it look much better. If you can get a cb seat cover cheap it would look even better as the cm has the hump and you cant get it completely stretched out. I use my 2 up and made a bum stop seat that clicks into the factory mounts. I put a tail light on each seat with the same pigtail connector and I can swap one for the other in a min

Awesome, thanks for the input. I saw a CB cover on ebay for around 40 bucks, that's way better than going to an upholsterer. I'll have to get out my carving knife.

An electric is best but a serrated bread knife works ok too.
