CB450 Rear Comstar Conversion

Perdition

I just wanna go fast!
Hello all. What is the easiest way to get a Comstar style wheel on the rear of a '73 CB450? I've seen CB360 swingarm swaps but don't know if there are any Comstar style wheels that will fit that particular swingarm. I've seen CB400T Comstars modded to fit a stock CB450 swingarm ( http://home.comcast.net/~tbpmusic/id54.htm ) but that seems to be a little much for my expertise. Any suggestions?

You'll first of all need to check the bearing sizes are the same (try here: http://www.bikebearingshop.co.uk/C1.htm) and then you'll need to measure the wheel width at the hub, etc......and make spacers to suit.

Can I ask why? Everyone is trying to get rid of their Comstars and run spoked wheels??

I already found the answer I needed on HondaTwins but thank you for the post. I'm trying to update the look of my bike and try something different. I've never seen a CB450K6 with Comstars. Plus I actually like the look of them when they are powdercoated all black.

WOW! I just happen to click on this question, since i'm one that prefers the spokes too, but then the bottom pic showed up. SLICK. Any links to the build on this one?

I was actually thinking of doing Comstars in all black on my CB360. Not sure about an 18"Rear/drum but I think you can buy multiples and build a hybrid but I haven't found the details yet.

I think the Cb250 and CB400 Superdream had 18's f&r, hard to find and I don't know what mods must be done
