CB450 Rearsets

Has anyone remove the rear peg flanges from the frame and still had enough room for a pair of Rearsets? Looks to me like its dead weight.

I cut the passenger pegs off my 72 CB450 and welded on my own mounts. Unfortunately, im TERRIBLE at documenting my builds so I don't have any good pics of it, but my build thread is in my signature.

Looks like a decent thread to me - thanks.

Whatever you do... BEFORE final welding of the mounts... Get on the bike (with the final bars/clip-ons in place) and make sure that the rearsets are positioned correctly. A lot of folks just place them in the easiest spot to do so, and they end up with a horrible riding postion. Feet way too far back and high. Look at modern sportbikes and how they're set up. If you can't sit up and take your hands off the bars while keeping your feet on the pegs... It's wrong. You need to be able to shift your weight from side to side using the rearset footpegs while riding.

Agreed. Not sure ill do it yet, but it's an option, and it's a racer...

Do you mean that you're building a proper, track only race bike?

RE building. My grandfather built it to race post-classic. The rules here are pretty strict with modifications and such, so I'm just bringing it back to how he had it.
