Cb500/550 swap

I swapped a 550 motor from a 1974 bike into my 73 CB500. I purchased motor mounts from eBay so that it would have the correct bracket for the clutch cable. I installed the motor this weekend but do not have enough clearance for the clutch cable to mount or work properly. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Looks like your clutch might be worn. That lever should be under tension by the time it gets that level. The arm should be angled down away from its pivot point when it first gets tight. You could try making an adjustment by turning the 6mm set screw at the bottom of the cover. You can see the bolt/nut I'm talking about in the bottom right hand corner of the second picture you posted. By turning it in, you should get tension sooner which should bring the angle of that arm down. If it's already turned all the way in, I'd pull the cover and mic the clutch plates to see if they're past the service point.
