CB550 confusion....help?

Hey,

Having a little CB550 confusion, and I am hoping maybe some of you can shine some light on this for me.

I bought a '76 CB550 a week or so ago, and some things are kind of confusing. They are:

1. Did these bikes have fork gators stock?? I see pictures of them on "google images" both ways. My bike doesn't have the gators.

2. The tank on my bike has the locking door to get to the fuel filling neck. Does that mean it is an "F" tank??

3. The front fender...it has the back brace, "loop", but none on the front. I believe the ones I am seeing with both braces are using an earlier front fender, like a '74...is this true??

the bike has a drum brake in the rear, a 4 into 2 exhaust, and the VIN says "550 K", so I know the bike isn't an "F ~ Super Sport". Right???? ???

Any help would be great!

some of the CB550s came with gators some did not, others also came with fork sleeves. not sure on the tank question. the front frok brace is under the fender bolted to the bottom of the fender. the rear part is not supportive it is just to keep the fender from banging around. the 4 -2 is an aftermarket exhaust. if it says 550K then i would assume that is what it is bud, i am not to sure on the 550... i would bet google search or something like that will help to narrow it down
