CB750 Cafe Build

Liking the look of your triple tree lights and your seat.

But those side covers don't do it for me... they kind of stick out oddly and don't flow with the seat.
Its that edge between your seat and the edge of the side cover. And I thought you had made yourself some velocity stacks? Where did those go?
Have you thought about making new side covers all today? Doesn't take long, its like an afternoon project for a saturday :p Get yourself some ally sheet and make cardboard templates. IMO it would look better if the side panels were more slick and the edges didn't really get that close to the edge of your seat.

HK,

I'm sorry but I have to disagree on the side covers. The flow is about as good as at can get with the OE side covers on. That seat kicks all 8 kinds of @$$! He did a great job keeping with the flow of the rear frame. If he were to make more of those, he could make a killing selling 'em. Aside from the DOHC BCR cafe seat, his is the best one I've seen specifically designed for us DOHC'ers. I see what you mean about the gap but I think It'll be a non-issue if/when he upholsters that bad boy. I cannot wait until he gets pic up of it fully assembled.

CB, know that someone in the Chicagoland area is rootin' for ya! Keep up the great work!

Fair enough, but I did say IMO :p

I did say I like the seat though its just the side covers which don't do it for me. But your right, need to see it upholstered first.

I like those stock side covers. They blend the seat and tank together nicely. You may find that the carbs are not wild about either velocity stacks or pods. They are a PIA to get them jetted right and sometime sa stock air box is just easier.

A CB900 I put together donkey's ages ago in Melbourne

BTW, 250 6 is a good motor. I had an XC Ghia with 351 motor when I worked for Henry many years ago and it flew. Bit heavy on petrol though. Less than 10 to a gallon when driving "enthusiastically" as I recall.

I will admit that the tank, side covers and seat have a nice flow to them, I just don't like the shapes involved. :)

Thanks for your feedback all. it is my first ever play around with glass for the seat and they plan was to have no gap and have it run closer to the covers but it was just chopped short by poor craftsmanship.

As for the v stacks they wont pass rego so i bought some pod filters. the bike runs sweet, i would upload a video but it sounds bad because it is too loud for the microphone.

yeah its no race car, its just a work ute. but i would love to put a 351 in it.

What commodore coils are those? I'm trying to source some new coils here in NZ and don't know where to start looking. If I search online it's all about using GM coils in America.
