took the bike to a local shop for some tune-up, checked the compression and he said 3cyl's are runnin in the 30's and the other is in the 80's (whatever that means, i'm not a mechanic. i assume low is bad).

he recommended rebuilding the top.

what would i need for a topend rebuild? pistons/rings/gasket/maybe head studs while he's in there?

any good kits out there?

thats real good to know! i did ride it to the shop, and it does ride extremely sluggish (compared to my buds 750)
i think he's tryin to get what he can out of me because i ride it daily and havent had any problems, i took it in to have the carbs sync'd and he did the comp test.

i agree this engine is somewhat heavy, had it out already workin on the frame. took a try or 3 to clean in up high enough to get it on the shop bench however, its nothin compared to slingin 90lb wet alfalfa bales for 12 hours though :)

thanks for the advice,
maybe i'll take it elsewhere!

anyone know a GOOD inexpensive mechanic in the Des Moines, Iowa area?!
