Cb750 seat and rear cowl ?

Im looking to build a seat for my 76 super sport and i want to go with a fiber-glassed rear cowl, to build the seat pan for a project like this one do i simply just attach the foam straight to a single piece of metal i have shaped for my seat pan ?

something like that is how im looking to build cowl

that is sort of like the shape i want

Do you plan on housing anything in the cowl? if so then putting foam directly on the metal pan may cause problems after you've glassed over the foam. If you already have a metal pan made up then you could put the foam on the pan and glass over the whole thing then pop the glass off and use that as your seat. I've never tried it but I'd be a little concerned with how well the resin would adhere to the metal pan.

I dont plan on keeping anything in the cowl it would be a purely aesthetic thing.
