CB750F DOHC...not sure where I'm headed.

Ran into a little trouble with the headlight. I bought a complete unit, with mount off a member over at the cb1100f foeum. Went to install it and found out he sent the wrong mount. Turns out was a CBX mount. So, I ordered a universal mount from Dime City. It was too short to reach the bucket mounting holes. By flipping the horn mount upside down I was able to move the bucket down and back, which let everything line up.

The clutch is probably just stuck plates. If you can break it loose it will probably work just fine. What I would do is put the front wheel up against a wall with the bike running and drop it into gear with the clutch pulled in. It will try to lurch forward and probably kill the engine, but might break the plates loose from being glued together with old oil. I do not recommend that anybody do this, although I have done it on dozens of bikes cause it is free and has never hurt anything yet. What I would do is pull the clutch cover and remove the glued together clutch pack out and separate the plates. I would then clean all the plates with contact cleaner and get as much oil off them as possible and sand the fibers lightly to break the glaze with 100 grit until they just look dull not shiny. I would then take a small vibrating sander with 100 grit and lightly sand both sides of the steel plates to remove any residue or shiny or blue spots. Then I would reassemble the clutch and run it. I also do not recommend that anybody else do this. I recommend that they remove the old clutch plates and springs and replace them with brand new parts from Honda, Barnett, EBC or Vesrah.

So, my recommendation is that you spend time and money on new parts and do it right. That is not what I would do.

Clutch is done and working correctly now. Im now ready to tackle the exhaust and my wife is buying me new tires fir my birthday. I did take tge bike for a short spin down the street.this was my first time to actually ride it.

I also need to sort out my turn signals on the front and get a new flasher.

Insurance is in place, I just need to get the title transferred and get it plated.

Sorry there haven't been any pictures. I don't like trying to clean grease and oil off my camera. I plan on taking a few when I get the bike cleaned up.

Dyna mufflers are now clamped on, I still need to work on getting them strapped to the frame. Lights are all sorted out and new seat cover is ready to be stapled on. Also, last night my wife ordered my birthday present - a set of Pirelli Sport Demon tires. Hopefully I will have some sunlight on Sunday to snap some picturesm

i know im a little late to the game but could your headlight mounts be upside down? that way they stick out a little more than up... and you dont see the backside of that bolt...
if it all works out, closer usually looks cleaner...
just a thought though

but again, if it only fits that way then thats the way it goes!

Now I just need to get the Pirellis mounted. The Dyna mufflers work great, even mount up to the OEM bracket. New seat cover on as well.

I had a little time today so I finally got the title transferred and picked up the license plate. If this warmer weather holds, I may actually get it out on the road Friday after I get the tires mounted and balanced. There's still some ice on my street.
