I hope you didn't paint the INSIDE of the case red... did you?
WHY?!
The paint will surely flake off and plug the pick up along with every oil passage.
A buddy once painted the inside of his oil pan on a small block Chevy to supposedly help... wound up plugging up the pick-up screen and genading the engine in short order.
Hoosier, I am sure that is Glyptal he painted the inside of the cases with. When the cases are properly prepped glyptal is not a problem and seals up the inside of the cases.
not only that but it also helps keep things lubricated better, its used a lot in high performance applications on cars mainly in the valley areas of underside of intakes where your valve train is on pushrod engines and on the top of the heads on overhead came engines.

Tweak did you mod the trany on your 900 build? This is just going to be a Yoshi 821 with a pork chop crank but I dont plan to treat the engine nice.
I already have the HD primaries, need to order the M3 slipper. was thinking about sending the gears out.
Yes, I had APE back cut my gears, clean and inspect the entire trans. Then I polished it up a bit before re instal.

The bench does have a few cool parts.
If i spent half the time putting the bike together as i have collecting rare parts it would have been done twice already.
I hope its worth it in the end
Still not sure about sending the trans out to be undercut.
Waiting on a few small parts to button up the bottom end so i might as well send it out at this point.
been reading this whole thread and i have an f my self. any new updates. Have you upgraded any parts drive wise or to beef up your suspension to handle like a queen around tight corners
two questions have you been able to put the dyna 2000 to work yet? And also what year exactly is your f? is it like a early 80s because i was thrown off with the front having a spoke and the rear having a c'star off an early 80s. What do you plan on using in the end spokes or coms?
I have not used my Dyna2k as the motor is not in the bike. I think im going to run my RC distributor with an electronic conversion instead. I know its stupid to go with a lesser ignition just for the looks....
My bike is a 1976. the 75-76 had wire wheels. That comstar in the picture was just there to roll the bike. I sold the rear wire to someone doing a swap.
I dont plan to run coms or wires. Im running the lester mag wheels that I cam across. Front forks have progressive springs but are going to run straigh rate springs with elulaters, the rear now is stock length progressives shocks but will be one inch longer(DOHC) koni or somethings. I might do a GL front end but not sure. a 78F is on it now, so that i could run the much better twin piston calipers.
Time for an update, eh?
Been so long since I saw a pic of your frame, I totally forgot it was red and was motivation to my current 750 build... not that mine can compare to this awesome CR replica.
Back in July of 2011
Not a whole lot, sad to say.
Few other things got in the way for a while
It is rolling and I am starting to work on wiring it.
Motor is almost ready to button up and install the bottom end.
I should have some time this week to do a few small things and have and update
