cg 125 fork tube extension

Poor English kid getting into bikes and loves it!
Hey guys. I'm looking to increase my front suspension travel by either swapping the fork tubes with longer 27mm ones, or swapping the whole front end with a xl100/125 front end (if it will fit).

Now I have never messed around with suspension before and will also be putting some longer shocks on (400mm I think instead of 310mm) to make the bike a light dual sport bike.

If anyone has ever done this before I would love to here your information and tips so I don't got wasting my money as I don't have much of it! haha

Many thanks, Ed

If it bottoms out against the triple clamps, then a longer fork tube will work, but if it bottoms out before hitting the triple clamps (more likely), you'll need to swap for something with more travel.

thanks for the info. I never thought about it that way! also would the xr100 forks be a better match than the xl's?

Ed

Ohh forgot to mention its a 1991 br-j

I don't know about being a better match, but they might be easier to find in better condition. Just another option to consider!

true, the only reason I was thing xl is because the older ones look VERY similar to a cg in terms of the frame. if anyone has done this sort of thing I would love to hear! :)
