I recently heard of a simple charging mod for honda twins that causes both "halves" of the stator to be activated at all times, rather than one constant and one that activates only when the headlights are on. This mod is done by combining the white and yellow wires in front of the stator.
My question is in how this translates to the rest of the system. After splicing the two, would I then remove the white from the rest of the harness and connect the new combined wire with the original yellow in the harness? Would this cause the headlights to be permanently on or does the white wire only serve to "tell" the stator when to activate the 2nd set of coils?
I've also heard this can overload the battery. Does anyone have experience with this mod?
