Hey all,

I'm Zach and I've just bought my first bike; a 1981 Honda CM400-C. I raced cars from ages 6-15 and have ridden quads/dirt bikes my entire life. I've always wanted a motorcycle but have always been wrapped up in the car world (Subaru guy). I currently still own a pretty heavily modified WRX but am now falling in love with the world of motorcycle customization.

This whole thing came about due to a friend starting his own custom fabrication company, Northrup Fabricators. I'm a marketing manager and also create websites/shoot photography so I offered to help him get his company off the ground in regards to building a website, etc. We'd also worked together at two previous speed shops so I have thousands of pictures of his custom fabrication. I recently started looking at bobbers and become utterly fascinated. We decided that if I funded the bike and the parts, he'd help me build the bike and would perform any custom fabrication that I so desire.

I just bought the bike two days ago off of a guy for a very cheap price. It ran last summer and then was parked in a barn underneath a shed. We got it back to the house and immediately started stripping off all the BS.

I haven't decided 100% yet if I want to keep the suspension or make it a true hard tail but I'm going to decide this weekend. Anyways, I'll be posting progress as I go. Hope to learn a lot while I'm here!

The first picture is how I received the bike. Second is after an hour of work, and the last picture is inspiration from another thread I saw online. In no way do I want mine to be a mimmic of that bike, but it's got certain aspects that touch on the style I'm fond of. I'm super excited to see where it ends up all said and done. I'm aiming to have the bike finished in by the end of April or early May.
