CJ360T Cafe Project (UPDATED Pics, getting close)

Re: CJ360T Cafe Project (ROLLING CHASSIS!!) Finally

Thanks man, I needed some affirmation on that. They work pretty well Huh?

Re: CJ360T Cafe Project (ROLLING CHASSIS!!) Finally

I have those same ones as well. The only thing I would suggest is turning them around so that the wires come out towards the rear of the bike so that the plug wires are easier to route and hide.

Re: CJ360T Cafe Project (ROLLING CHASSIS!!) Finally

Diesel, I just did that yesterday. Did you have to slice in a two pin connector to one of the wires for the Condensor and the Points connection? It looks like I need a total of three connections off of each Ignition Coil and I only had two. I just took the connections off of the OEM coils and connected them to the new coils.

Re: CJ360T Cafe Project (ROLLING CHASSIS!!) Finally

Been a little absent recently, so it had been a while since I looked in on this, but it looks great. I dig the 200 tank on there.

I'm kind of waiting for your review on the XS coils. I wish I could offer input but I plan on starting off with stock coils and carbs and see how things go. I'm completely prepared for the fact that I may end up with Mikunis, but I'm going to give it a shot.

The wheels look great also. Keep it up.

Edit: What size Mikunis did you go with?

Re: CJ360T Cafe Project (ROLLING CHASSIS!!) Finally

There should just be two wires off the coils and two into the harness.

Re: CJ360T Cafe Project (ROLLING CHASSIS!!) Finally

Does anyone have pics of 360 wiring? When I took the wiring harness off a lot of ends were cut, so I don't know or remember when it all mounted. Just mainly the iginition coils, point connections, Grounds.

Anyone who has a pic or could take one it would really be appreciated.

I need some advice on getting this tank/petcock to work. I have a CB200 tank and petcock and need to know if I can run that petcock on this CJ360. Does it flow enough fuel to work with my Mikuni's?

Here's where I am as of last night.

Johnny, no modding really at all except for up front where it fits over the rubber bushings. It's not exactly locked down quite yet, but it fit great underneath. Still trying to decide if the CB200 petcock will work or if I need cut out the threads and weld in the CB360 Petcock. Otherwise it pretty much slides in.

This is looking good man, I love the cb200 tank. Sorry I don't have any more input than that. What size tires are you running, they look beefy for a 360?

This is what I don't understand about wiring. How do I know what's needed and what's not needed? I'm really not even running turn signals on this bike, just want the basics and want it to run obviously. I'm trying to get it started this weekend.

To me, it looks like someone just added that in (not sure why). Honda ground wires are almost always green and the OEM connections will usually end in a bullet-style connection or plug with spade-style connections.

You really should get a newer rectifier
That doesn't look original?
I've never seen that type on a later Honda (360 should have encapsulated type)
The old selenium plate ones are not even close to the best thing to have.
Wire is definitely an add on, probably because someone fitted an early CB350 rectifier?

I picked up the Radio Shack rectifier this weekend and will put that in instead. Now I just need to figure out how to wire this thing up and get it started. Probably the only really daunting part of this build so far. I just don't understand electrical!!

I want to get this thing running so bad.

Anyone every tried welding in a different petcock to a tank. Is it doable?

Probably. just don't blow yourself up!

yes. wiring sucks. its the worst part for me so far too! its looking good though!!!

Moving to a new house this week, so progress on the bike may be slow. Got a few more parts in from DCC, but I just want to get this thing fired up so bad. Once I get her started everything else should fall together pretty quickly.
