cl pipes on a cb?

Hey guys,

quick question. Will the high-pipes from a CL350 fit on my '73 CB350? I've read it can, but would like to know for sure before I drop money on a set. If so is it a direct swap, or would there be modifications involved?

from a cl350 to a cb350 yep.. straight swap... you might have to facbicate some exhuast brackets but its a swap..
from a cl350 to a cb360... now thats another story...

They'll fit fine. Shims were a little shorter due to the fatter lip on the pipes, where they enter the manifold. Purchasing a set that includes correct collars and shims will save you a little time/trouble. Easy swap though. Did it on my '69. Need some finish work, but I'm happy with em.

i'm dealing with this problem right now, I have a cl350 that someone put cb pipes on. I went and got a set of the original cl pipes but still have the cb pipe collars. so far i haven't had luck getting them to fit just right. what do i have to do to my cb pipe collars to make them fit my cl pipes better?

Well, if what jsadler said is correct, probably trimming some excess off the collars will help. Or you could just buy the right ones on ebay, theyre fairly cheap.

Yes, depending on what shims you are left with, I would think trimming some excess length off of them would work fine. However, if it is a problem with the pipes not clamping down enough, put a washer or two on the outside of the collar...you may have run out of threads and not be getting the pressure you need. I've encountered that if the exhaust gaskets are missing or flattened.

haha! i don't even have the crush gaskets in there. good call. can't wait to check that out this weekend.
