That is not only a Flasher module. It allows you to use two rear lights as turn/tail/stop. Run red lensed rear turn signals, and you will not have to use a brake/tail light.
I googled it and it does look like it's designed to make the indicators flash when the brakes are on for added visibility. There are a few choices now for integrated LED tail lights that work as flashers brake and rear light.
that is the bike wiring schematic. am i just splicing it into the existing harness? just wherever? that could be true but that to me would seem pointless unless it would work for some reason that i dont understand. i dont really know. i cant do anything at this point.
i made my seat pan today and sanded my tank. getting ready to glass part of it. then bondo and paint. but at this point i am feeling defeated. i hate wiring. so time consuming and frustrating. i just want to ride the damn bike already!!!
and sanded gas tank. getting ready to bondo and glass. gotta sand some more.
on another note... still trying to figure wiring out. was stupid in thinking that the module was for break and running lights when it clearly says blinkers.
tried testing the running lights but they were really dim through the GREEN wire and very bright when directly connected to power source. it doesn't have to be a closed circuit does it? cause there are wires not being used.
trying to figure this all out! can i test the running lights by turning on the ignition and just connecting some wires or does it all have to be wired up as a whole?
is there a way to just lay out the harness on the floor and ground it and test everything out? i tried that today but couldn't get any power to the running lights. does it need to be grounded to the bike? or does it make a difference? i really don't understand. i know the rectifier must be grounded. did that. maybe i need pictures of this? just not sure if i am doing something wrong.
thank you Ringo! actually, gonna cover that thing for my seat.
today i tore the bike all the way back down to the frame and sanded a bit and then epoxied it. the paint i had before was chipping really bad so i needed to do it before it got real bad later down the road. shouldn't put me too far behind. still need to figure out wiring.. becoming the bane of my existence.
figured it out! it was so easy.. i was making it too hard.
anyways. bike is nice and shiny now. putting in the motor and everything
early next week. waiting for epoxy to dry more. not going to glass the tank
cause i wouldn't have been able to make it smooth im sure. so going to have
to glass a seat to go over that stupid lip part of the tank that goes up so high.
Haven't posted on here in a while! The bike is pretty much done... for now.
Still need to upholster the seat. Doing that this week but its been really fun
to ride around! I'll have to post a video soon. I also have lots of build photos
I need to post from painting to whatever else.
Thank you! After I finish this seat this week I'm going to sell it and use the money to do another project. I want a cb550. They aren't easy to find!!!
