CL350 Losing power on the highway?

I had got on the on-ramp... had good power... ran for about 5 minutes before the power started dropping off...

I drained the tank and took it off... there was a BUNCH of shit clogging the petcock valve... and one really big chunk of stuff almost completely clogging the fuel petcock bung in the tank.

I'm pretty sure a lack of fuel was the problem. I ordered a brand new fuel valve and a POR-15 kit and I will be redoing the inside of the tank before installing the valve.

I also got inline fuel filters and all clear fuel lines so that I can make sure I have good fuel flow. Everything should be here the first half of this week.

I'll keep everyone posted.

How long were you running it on the highway exactly?

SOunds for sure like that was the problem. I was asking simply because running the highway at speed would seem to me to be turning some pretty high RPMs for extended periods of time. Lil early in the season, but i would worry bout overheat.

Are older honda twins know for overheating in the summer? What are symptoms of an overheating situation? I'm planning to ride the shit outta this thing this summer... just trying to anticipate any foreseeable problems.

Glowing red and possibly flames ? ;D

You'll likely be fine. I rode mine on the Texas heat (104 degree day) and didn't notice any problems.

I know this is an old thread, but I've ridden my '73 cb350 on the highway in the 80 degree sun at 85mph for 2.5 hours each way with no problems. It's my first bike so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I was comfy.
