Re: 1969 Honda CL350 Type 1 cafe build! Riding Holly is going to be fun!
Instead of doing a full write up, I am now going to be doing video updates to appease you guys as well as my youtube subscribers. Well here's one I shot today. Sorry for cam quality. May have to steal my sisters hd camera lol jk. CL350 Cafe Racer update: 1/28/11.
1969 Honda CL350 Type 1 cafe build! Riding Holly is going to be fun!
Alright dudes quick question, I am currently running a big ass 12V 4amp battery that fits perfectly in the stock 350 battery tray. I would like to hide as many of the electrics as possible. Is there any some what cheap gel batteries that are small so I can do a tray set up or under the seat hump set up?
Re: 1969 Honda CL350 Type 1 cafe build! Riding Holly is going to be fun!
That's REDBULLTJ.......red....bull....TJ......and yes the carbs and points cover are coming. I stripped the wiring out of my spare bike the last two nights, it is terrible and none serviceable. I pulled both hand controls also, they crumbled in my hands the the guts were rusted (wires gone!). Anything else you need, let me know ASAP because I am going to tape up the box in the morning and ship it out to you.
You said you needed fork parts....I am going to keep those along with the frame and wheels. I am going to cut and weld up the frame as an engine stand because its cracked in two places.
So just let me know....also, stop asking about shipping as I want nothing in return...I am happy to help you out. I am just happy your building an early CB like mine (68 CB350)
PS... Did you say you needed a petcock also? I can send mine out but it might need to be rebuilt or it might be no-good....I will let you determine that...
Re: 1969 Honda CL350 Type 1 cafe build! Riding Holly is going to be fun!
Okay redbulltj, I need the stator cover, the petcock with the nut and the carbs. And thanks man I really appriciate it. Post a build thread I really want to see your cb. So those are the parts I need and I dont mind rebuilding the petcock.
Re: 1969 Honda CL350 Type 1 cafe build! Riding Holly is going to be fun!
Oh one more thing tj, do you have the stator itself laying around? Because someone stripped out my lower right screw by bolting in a larger bolt so the hole expanded and it leaks oil now. If you don't no worries your already helping me out enough lol!
Re: 1969 Honda CL350 Type 1 cafe build! Riding Holly is going to be fun!
Sorry bud, it was just a dumb little question about the stator and a tweaked bolt. I will post one up tonight David, and that will be my update for you. Just hold on.
Re: 1969 Honda CL350 Type 1 cafe build! Riding Holly is going to be fun!
Sending your stuff out this morning. I didn't want give up my stator cover and the petcock looks kinda bad.....so I included something else I know you want to make up for the crappy petcock. You will have to wait to see what it is.....
Re: 1969 Honda CL350 Type 1 cafe build! Riding Holly is going to be fun!
Hey man no worries on the stator cover, and the petcock no biggie either. Mine was leaking and I think I can fix it. But what is this a prize?!?!? I am really excited to see what it is. If you don't mind can you give me a hint? Like what part does it relate too? electirics, cosmetic, mechanical???
Thanks man, I took a bs metal working class in high school, that wasnt really worth anything. Luckily a few years back my dad introduced me to metal working by building parts kits of guns from ww2. Learned a lot from him and the tank kinda represents that. ANd thanks man on the comment.
Re: 1969 Honda CL350 Type 1 cafe build! Riding Holly is going to be fun!
yeah man! It did, I made a video, I may be able to salvage the carbs, and the petcock looks great. It cleaned up real easy with some carb clean and a shot of compressed air. And the petcock was like 40 times better than the one I had on there. So again thanks man it really helped out! I appriciate it. Anything you need just give me a shout and I may have it.
