Been Around the Block
Okay guys, I need help connecting my charging system, having a hard time with it.
My alternator has 4 1/2 wires:
1 - Yellow
1 - Yellow (Might be White... its dirty)
1 - Pink
1 - Green/Red
1/2 - Green/Red - also, i poked that into the neutral switch. Whats the need for the one above?
My Ignition Switch has 4:
1 - Black
1 - Red
1 - Brown
1 - Brown/With
My regulator has 3:
1 - Green
1 - Black
1 - Yellow
So here is what I'm assuming, in terms of connection:
1. 1 yellow and 1 pink FROM the Alternator goes to the Yellow and Pink lines of the Rectifier. Yes?
2. 1 yellow (or white) FROM the Alternator to Yellow line from Regulator. Mhmm?
3. And then that neutral switch lead.
There is one wire left on the Alternator, an exposed Green/Red, where does this go?
Regulator:
4. The yellow is connected to the yellow line off of the Alternator. As stated above. Yeah?
5. Black connects into the main ignition switch Black (for accessories) . Yeah?
6. Green, ground to frame.
Rectifier:
7. Yellow is connected to Alternator yellow.
8. Pink connected to Alternator Pink.
9. Red/White goes to Main red battery line, BEFORE the fuse.
10. Green ground to frame.
Yeah??
11. My real problems seem to be that extra Green/Red lead coming from the alternator.
12. Those extra brow and brown/white lines on the ignition switch. what are they for?
13. In my diagram it shows the a white cable of the alternator splicing into the yellow of the alternator. Why like that?
At any rate, my alt. wire leads don't look like this... there are more.
* I'm using the stock Regulator and Stock Rectifier.
Can you tell this is my first time wiring? :-\
