thats after welding and grinding smooth, and primered the seat pan....
i took the gas tank end down to the bare metal then primed it and sprayed it gloss black.
Then i forgot to get pics of stages in between. I got some high density foam, cut it to shape and wrapped it. not sure how much i like the wrapping or the cloth but it was cheap and a good solution for now, i just found out i have a friend that does upholstry so maybe someday i'll have him make a nice one for me. I figured i started this project
so i might as well finish it, i'll have him do my next seat when i change it up.
Nice work!!! I hope my attempt at covering my seat comes out that nice! I'm blowing my budget on getting my stuff professionally painted, so it's up to me to get the cover looking halfways decent...
just wondering, could you slap up a pic of the passenger peg mount under that exhuast...
Im wondering if my Raaks rearsets will still work if I put CL pipes on the bike...
The rearsets are mounted onto where the passenger pegs were...
i can tell you this....i sat on the bike with a mock up pair and didnt feel too great about where they were with the pipes. I think im going to move and mount them more forward where the pipes arent so fat but still use the hunk of metal that forms the pass peg mount.
there you go ;D
Im happy with it, but im sure ill get sick of it and wanna go to a stubbier rounder style seat back.
the only problem i have with my setup, is that it needs to be notched so it will open 90*the tank cap covers the original notch so i'll have to do that tomorrow.
