I am currently attempting to cafe out a 81 GS750L and while looking at the numerous other bike builds on here (generally cb's) I see there are quite a few that have a clear points cover or clutch cover which interests me as I have always liked that look on the ducati's. I stirred the waters if you will on the gs resources and thought I might pose the question on here as well since there are a lot of great bikes out there.
Has anyone on their own build or on other suzuki bikes they have seen had a clear clutch or points cover? If so was that something customized by a local machine shop or found one online? Thanks for any help provided.
Is that DCC cover a stock cover that has been CNC machined to create the hole and then had a clear part inserted? If so, the same mod could be done to almost any side cover.

They're not made by DCC - they sell them. They're brand-new, not modified stock covers. I saw them from the original guy making them a while back if I recall - DCC must have picked them up to sell which is fantastic, and something they've repeatedly done with guys starting out making their own parts.
I figured that DCC are just selling and of course they can't be modified stock covers. Stock are thin gauge steel. Duh. I was seeing the casting pores as if they were wear marks. Ah well.
And I still need to make/machine a set for my GT750 to replace the bent bits of scratched tin. Those are nice covers.
Ha ha I walk away from my computer for the weekend and boom! Thanks for the info guys and I appreciate the direction. I was able to find a guy on one of my other forums that had made one for his GS1100, which is the same side cover as mine, that was able to give me some ideas on how to make it work. Haven't delved into it yet as I am currently trying to locate a new rear swing arm. After seeing how this looks I placed it on my list of things to do. I will see if I can find the video of it because he also has some LED lights behind the clutch cover that looks pretty cool once its fired up.
