Snow fall has prevented a test ride for me but I'll get one!! I can post a review if anyone is interested. The fit and finish I can tell you is excellent.

Awesome! I'll have to get in POC soon to check it out (and just check the shop out in general). I moved to Lakewood a few months ago and with work, traveling for work, and getting ready for a wedding I haven't had time to think about bikes =[. Definitely want to see that little thing though!

They're open tuesday thru Saturday. 11-7 (11-6 on sat). Tons of old Hondas there too. Great place. I work there on most Saturdays during the spring and summer. Good group of friends there.

very cool, I just saw an announcement that they have jumped through all the hoops and will be exporting to Canada. Not sure if they have distribution yet but if they get on the RIV list I may order one state side and import it myself. I really think that bike would make a great commuter for me. I would then be able to tear apart my 450 and build something out of it. Been following these guys for a couple years waiting to see if they get bikes up this way.

awesome! My friend Phil that owns the shop just informed me he's already building custom pipes for these. He already builds them for the Sachs MadAss and used to do a Bajaj pipe. His pipes are legendary!

Just checked, they have a full on Canadian distributor from the looks of it. I will be intersted to see what you think of the bike in person and if you get to ride one. I like the fact that US + CAD dollar is basically par and they kept the MSRP on the Canadian site the exact same as the US. Unlike every other manufacturer who adds $500 -$1000 for the priviledge of buying it north of the 49th. Now I hope they get to increase displacement and get a midsize standard on the market. A 4-500 CC twin would be cool.

Neato! What engine is in this thing? Thoughts on quality now that you have it in hand so to speak? Miss Kitty is starting to want a bike...

Weather has permitted a ride but the fit and finish are great. I know the owner through the scene here and know he's very hands on with every step of the manufacturing process often spending months at a time in China overseeing production. The motor is a 250cc custom built and tuned Lifan. I'll let you know as soon as I get a rip on it. If its dry Friday, I'm going to stop by the shop and see if I can take one out.

Don't care much what anyone says, I've got a couple Lifan 150cc laydowns to go in these S90 chassis I have and they're a good little engine.

They should be, considering their heritage. China motors are a mixed bag, but if CMW has their own QA staff in the factories, it should be good stuff.

I've been following these guys for a few years now. They tried to get stuff made in the USA and hit a shit ton of road blocks, they wanted to build bikes, so they went to China, and did it the right way, they stayed there, made relationships with the good suppliers and have full time QA staff there. I would bet the quality of the bikes will be on par with a lot of the better imports. They are using first tier suppliers that build parts for Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha. I have been in Purchasing now for 10 years and have imported a lot of materials from China and they only way to get top quality is to go there, meet, spend time finding good suppliers and having a person there all the time checking your stuff. I am very much considering a purchase of one of the Misfits as a daily commuter so I can rip my other bikes to pieces and customize them. Hoping to also get the wife on a bike an that misfit is a perfect starter bike I think.

Cheers.

I've been tooling over the idea of one as well. I want a small displacement bike as a commuter, and the selection in this country is limited.

You can buy all the used Harley evolution Sportsters you want for $2.5-3.5K and have a hell of a lot more motorcycle than this for your money. I have even seen a number of 600 Ducati Monsters and lots of cbr600 Hondas for less than they are asking for this POS. With that in mind I can not imagine what sort of isolation from reality someone would have to have that would endorse a decision to purchase something like this....

Huh....

Hate aside.

I heard about these awhile back, when they had first announced them. Glad to see they've finally released them! I'd be interested to see one in person...

Perhaps someone who wants a NEW beginner/small displacement bike, and doesn't want the sportbike (Ninja250, CBR250) or the cruiser (Rebel250, GZ250) look?
Not everyone wants 100 year old technology, Italian "exotica", or "cookie cutter" sportbikes.

Personally, I'd have to wait a year or two to see that the "bugs" have been worked out, but I'd consider this bike for my wife (assuming the seat height isn't too high for her short legs) because I'm not crazy about the looks of her Rebel 250. And she has no interest in larger displacement bikes.

Yep, that's exactly what I was thinking too, "looks perfect for the lady". Actually been eyeballing "tha heist" model for her, the little hard tail they offer. I think it'd be perfect for her. (Hair over five feet)

Can't say I wouldn't enjoy riding "tha misfit" though... I've ridden plenty of pitbikes with chinese 110's and 125's and I've had absolutely no issues so I don't see the chinese 250 as being a bad thing.
