Clip-on question

I am currently running clubman bars but want to switch over to some clip-ons. What would this require? I have heard that I will need to run shorter length throttle and clutch cable, but will all of the stock components that normally go on the bars, fit on a set of clip-ons?

Yes, as long as they are 7/8 clip ons. If your clubman bars are wired internally, you'll have to drill holes in the bottom of your switch housings to run the wires out of.

I took a radius file to the set on my CB500, filed out just enough that the cables would run out the side without being pinched.

The clubmans are not wired internally. So it would just be a matter of removing the clubmans, mounting the clip-ons, mounting everything back on the bars, and that is it? And does anyone know what length clip-ons are required to be able to put all of the stock handlebar components on?

1. Yep.
2. Depends. Usually 8-10" or so is enough, but it depends on the angle of the clip-ons and how they mount.

You'll likely have to loosen the banjo bolt on your master cylinder slightly to reposition it (although with clubmans this may have already been done). And if you're running clubmans, your cables should be fine. Often you don't actually need new, shorter cables, but can reroute what's on there.
