I'm with Yorkie, it's YOUR build, everyone has a preference , I hate Harleys so I don't expect them to like my bikes either. You don't see a lot of those lowered bikes unless their the hardtail guys and they have a springer seat sooo I do like the look so maybe just add some of the taste (which is what you like) and don't make the bike dangerous to ride since your new at street bikes, I too rode dirt for years so it wasn't hard to have an Aprilia Tuono 1000R as my second bike after a DRZ400, your young so don't spend money on bling and be riding on tyres with bald spots and belt showing through, make your rubber part of the cool factor, just bought Pirelli Route 66 tires, not the look I wanted but they last a long time and it's wet here in WA, not the dry I had in Denver.
Enjoy your build, it's a learning experience, just be safe (rubber, brakes, cables etc) before the bling
