Colored sprocket 520 conversion, cl360, anodized red or blue?

SASO Racing

On a 72' cl360, bikes color is black.

If I am going to get a 520 chain conversion. It will replace the 530 chain with an 0-ring 520, and new alum. f+r sprockets.

Is it worth it to spend extra money on a colored chain or rear sprocket? What color combo? I think regular/ black or silver? chain with a colored blue rear sprocket. Maybe red, for a rat rod red+black look tho?

stock gearing is what it came with from the factory, the gears were heat treated in soup stock, cream of tater soup

This is exactly what I have been trying to find myself. Gold chain and a red rear sprocket. 530 or 520 doesn't matter to me. I have tried to talk with sprocket specialists multiple times but I have yet to get a response on an e-mail or a phone call. Is there anyone else that does sprockets? Also, someone correct me if Im wrong but the CB350 should be the same. There are a few on flea-bay that have a different cut design compared to the stock CL/CB360 rear sprocket. As far as the front goes, I would stay with a steel front sprocket. Post pics when you get something picked out. G

BTW, front sprockets are always steel. Rears can be aluminum though and you can get them anodized any color within reason.

do you know where a person can purchase the aluminum rear sprocket only?

A person in this forum called "xxxxxx" sells 520 conversions. But his communication is very bad. I cant get a response through Pm.
Let us know if you find some luck in ordering the correct kit.
Also, what bike do you have, and what tooth count are you planning to do?

I have a 74 CB360. Im looking for either a 37 or a 36. I have a 17 up front. I want it to look just like the Renthal one shown in your picture.

Stock ratio is 16/34 which is 2.125 ratio

If you go 17/36 that equals 2.117 ratio.

That is 3% lower RPM. So roughly you go from 5000 RPM at 50MPH, to about 4850 RPM at 50....

Not exactly making a big difference. It will give reduced RPM at speed, but you will accelerate a little slower, but not have any greater top speed, as top speed is HP limited, not RPM.

I'm hoping to have a little head work done to possibly get some of the rpm back. We will see. Lol. I have messaged speed moto and it sounds like they may have something that will work. Let you know tomorrow.

17/36 sounds like it should be better. However for those running a 110 rear tire doesn't that have the same effect. Making the gearing higher having a taller rear tire? I wonder what % effect it has?

Any any luck with speed motorcycle co? It seems like they are.the best option for a anodized 520 chain conversion at the moment.

Picked up a 36 tooth sprocket from Speed-moto on Ebay. It wasnt exactly what I was looking for but everything else is ridiculously priced. I went for it. Im hoping ats a 7075 AL but I don't know what material it is. Hopefully it holds up to all this power. :) I may bring it in to a local anodizer down the road but for now its going to work.

I think I bought it during the evening or something and didn't bother to call. I had seen they advertised on here which is why I bought from them, and the great price! ;)
